Simone

Simone was a girl from Côte d’Ivoire who was held captive by the Midnight Sun at the chocolate plantation for three years and had to be rescued by Cass. She was imprisoned by Señor Hugo. She grew up on a cacao farm and was taken by the Midnight Sun because she was a supertaster, someone with twice as many taste buds as usual. They forced her to taste-test Señor Hugo’s chocolate. She later befriended Cass’s mother Melanie, and helped Cass, Max-Ernest, and Yo-Yoji after she was freed.
